Dholera International Airport Moves Toward Completion
Airport development designed to support Dholera’s growing industrial ecosystem

Dholera International Airport is another major infrastructure project being developed alongside the region’s industrial expansion.
In July 2026, the Ministry of Civil Aviation reported that 75% of the terminal building had been completed, while the primary runway, taxiway, ATC tower and several ancillary structures had reached 100% completion.
Airport infrastructure
According to the ministry, the airport is being developed with:
- A 25,000-square-metre passenger terminal
- Annual passenger-handling capacity of approximately 20 lakh passengers
- A 2,500-square-metre cargo terminal
- Completed runway and taxiway infrastructure
- ATC infrastructure
The airport is being planned to serve the growing industrial ecosystem of Dholera.
Connection with industrial development
An industrial region of Dholera’s planned scale requires multiple transportation options.
The airport could provide air connectivity for:
- Business travellers
- Industrial executives
- Investors
- Engineers
- Technical specialists
- High-value cargo
- Industrial supply chains
The Civil Aviation Ministry also highlighted Dholera’s connection with future aerospace and manufacturing activity.
Why the airport matters to Dholera

The airport is not simply a passenger infrastructure project. It is being developed as part of the wider connectivity framework supporting Dholera’s industrial ambitions.
However, the airport’s eventual economic impact will depend on operational commencement, airline connectivity, cargo activity and the growth of industries in the surrounding region.
NXT HOUSING Takeaway:
Dholera International Airport is an important infrastructure component to watch as the region moves toward becoming a larger industrial and manufacturing destination.
